You would not believe how tired I was after two days running up and down the Vitra Campus along with some of Europe’s most influential interior designer influencers that ever influenced. In spite of my humongous vintage Umbro benchcoat, I was cold, wet and desperate for my second wind to kick in. And boy, did it ever when our group entered the Vitra Schaudepot. I went through the place in total awe and ended up taking some great photos of my favorite chairs. After all, the show – or rather the Schau – must go on! How incredibly cool to finally see this rare Carlo Bugatti chair IRL! If you’ve seen Alien Convenant, I’m sure its style will look familiar to you! God, the world is filled with such beautiful things. Sigh.
This 1849 Centripedal Spring Armchair was one of the world’s first office chairs.
